Job Description

About Us

Tavus is a research lab pioneering human computing. We’re building AI Humans: a new interface that closes the gap between people and machines, free from the friction of today’s systems. Our real-time human simulation models let machines see, hear, respond, and even look real, enabling meaningful, face-to-face conversations. AI Humans combine the emotional intelligence of humans with the reach and reliability of machines, making them capable, trusted agents available 24/7, in every language, on our terms.

Imagine a therapist anyone can afford. A personal trainer who adapts to your schedule. A fleet of medical assistants that can give every patient the attention they need. With Tavus, individuals, enterprises, and developers can all build AI Humans to connect, understand, and act with empathy at scale.

We’re a Series B company backed by world-class investors including Sequoia Capital, Y Combinator, and Scale Venture Partners.

Be part of shaping a future where humans and machines truly understand each other.

The Role

We’re hiring a Technical Recruiter to help scale our team across engineering, product, and business functions. You’ll focus on building teams across cutting edge domains across AI/ML, software engineering, and adjacent teams while also stepping in to support general, administrative, and GTM hiring as needed.

This is a high-impact role, critical in moving us faster towards scaling our world-class team. You will own full cycle hiring, sourcing, closing out candidates, and partnering closely with hiring managers. We’re looking for someone who thrives in early-stage chaos, loves building systems, and is excited to attract the kind of people who want to build what hasn’t been built before.

Your Mission

  • Own end-to-end recruiting across technical and non-technical functions as the company scales

  • Partner with founders and hiring managers to define and refine roles across the business, interview processes, and closing strategies

  • Craft compelling job descriptions, outbound messaging, and sourcing strategies to engage exceptional, hard-to-reach candidates through outbound efforts and non-traditional channels

  • Champion inclusive hiring best practices from day one

  • Take lead on all things People Ops - from generating offers, onboarding new hires, handling visa logistics, etc.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of recruiting experience, ideally in-house experience as first recruiter at an early-stage startup

  • Proven success hiring highly technical talent in competitive markets (specifically engineering, AI/ML, data, and infrastructure roles)

  • You’re a builder: you’ve created recruiting systems/processes from scratch or significantly improved existing ones

  • Exceptional communication and candidate experience instincts

  • Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable working in ambiguity

  • Passion for AI and the opportunity to shape a team working at the edge of what’s possible

Bonus if you have:

  • Experience as a founder, or startup building experience

  • Experience hiring for non-technical roles (G&A, GTM)

  • Experience building out roles/processes in Ashby

  • Played Portal 1 and 2 - or willing to as part of onboarding

Benefits

When you join Tavus, you’re joining a family. Our work is driven by our team, and our success is shared by all. This position has a flexible work schedule, unlimited PTO, competitive healthcare and gear stipends, as well as, of course, plenty of fun! At the end of the day, we want Tavus to be a place for you to learn, directly drive impact, and be with a team you love.

To learn more about our team culture, and benefits, check out our hiring page!

Tavus is growing fast, and we’d like you to grow with us! Are you excited to get your hands dirty? Drop your resume and we’ll be in touch!

We are not looking for cultural fits, we are looking for culture creators. In fact, diversity is what drives our success – it’s at the core of how we hire, communicate, and work. We are inclusive to all and combine our diverse backgrounds, skill sets, and thinking to build the best experiences for our clients.
