The Pianist provides high-quality live music for events, ceremonies, or regular services, enhancing the atmosphere and experience for attendees. This role requires musical talent, professionalism, and flexibility to accommodate a wide variety of musical styles and event formats. The Pianist may perform solo or collaborate with other musicians or event staff to meet specific performance needs.
Experience: Proven performance experience in live settings (weddings, religious services, concerts, etc.)
Skills:
Proficient in reading sheet music and/or playing by ear
Strong repertoire across classical, jazz, pop, or liturgical music (depending on event type)
Ability to accompany singers or other instrumentalists as needed
Excellent timing, expression, and technical ability
Perform live piano music during events such as weddings, funerals, receptions, services, or corporate functions
Select and prepare appropriate music based on the client’s or event coordinator’s requests
Rehearse with vocalists, instrumentalists, or choirs if accompaniment is required
Arrive early to set up, tune, and prepare the instrument as needed
Adjust performance based on the tone, pace, and flow of the event
Handle music transitions smoothly and discreetly during ceremonies or services
Maintain a professional presence and engage respectfully with guests, clients, and staff
Pack up and care for any personal instruments or equipment used
