Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Camp Coordinator   
Pay Range: $22.50 - $27.82
Status: Part-time, Non-Exempt
Schedule: 30 hours/week ; shifts vary by location and may include evenings, weekends, and required trainings.
Reports to: Camp Coordinator   
Program hours of operation: M-F 11:30 AM – 6:00 PM 

Locations: Moreno Valley Unified School District.

What We Do:  
Woodcraft Rangers provides TK-12 expanded learning programs, including before and after school, specialty enrichment, and summer learning. In the past few years, Woodcraft has expanded its menu of services beyond traditional afterschool programs and summer camps to include early learning, environmental and social justice, college access, and inclusion services for youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Additionally, we offer Lifecraft, a college and career advancement program to support the development of approximately 1,500 staff. Today, Woodcraft Rangers serves more than 30,000 youth ages 4 to 18 each year across 160 plus Title I schools in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties, and continues to expand its reach.

Job Summary:   
An Assistant Camp Coordinators is responsible for supporting the Camp Coordinator in   
overseeing all on-site logistics, with an emphasis on administrative responsibilities. The Assistant Camp Coordinator supports the on-site team to deliver impactful and fun summer day camp experiences. Leads out daily meal logistics, field trip logistics, and events. Is the next person of contact in communicating with parents, community members, administration, and staff.   

The Assistant Camp Coordinator position is an on-site position, including attending training at the Woodcraft Rangers main office in Little Tokyo and school sites.  

Role Overview :  
  • Ensure students are always in a safe environment (physically and emotionally). Promotes an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces diversity for all program participants, staff, and families.  
  • In collaboration with the Camp Coordinator, supports the on-site team to perform their duties and deliver high-quality programs and/or customer service.   
  • Coordinates snacks and meals with food services vendor and provides any related training to WR team and submits required documentation to food services vendor.  
  • Effectively implements site protocols, safety regulations, WR procedures and policies.   
  • Oversees and tracks all compliance requirements and ensures all required documentation is submitted accurately and timely, including, but not limited to, attendance records, program surveys and summer cycle reports.  
  • Complies with all applicable safety requirements and emergency protocols, including up to date on all training and required certifications.   
  • Builds and sustains collaborative relationships with multiple stakeholders, including participants, families, site personnel and colleagues.  
  • Supports the development and planning of culminating activities/end of week activities and/or events that highlight all participants' work and accomplishments.   
  • May be required to attend off site field trips if the Camp Coordinator is not available.  
  • Participate in staff development trainings as required, approximately 30 hours spread out over multiple weekends/intersessional days throughout the spring.  
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:  
  • High School Diploma or equivalent  
  • FBI & DOJ Livescan clearance  
  • TB Test clearance  
  • First Aid & CPR certification (provided by WR)   
  • 6 months of experience supervising or leading a team and/or a group of children in a school recreational setting OR 6 units in child development.   
  • Ability to use smart phone for work related business (WR provides Wi-Fi/cell stipend)
  • Must successfully pass an assessment test evaluating skills in math, reading comprehension, and spelling
  • For ABC Unified School District (Cerritos) Candidates ONLY - 48+ College Units or ABC Unified Paraeducator Test Completion.
