Job Description

Location: Denver International Airport (DEN)

Shift: Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Saturday, day and night shifts available.

Pay: $26-28/hr, depending on experirence

We are hiring Junior Mechanics to support baggage handling and conveyor systems at Denver International Airport . This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with auto mechanic or hands‑on mechanical experience who want to grow their skills in an industrial, electro‑mechanical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect belts, motors, carousels, and conveyor systems to ensure proper operation
  • Clean conveyors, remove debris, and keep equipment areas organized and safe
  • Assist technicians with repairs and emergency maintenance calls
  • Replace basic components such as belts, covers, and bearings under supervision
  • Safely clear baggage jams and reset equipment
  • Use hand tools to make basic mechanical adjustments
  • Communicate equipment issues and status updates to the maintenance team
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times
  • Attend training and continue developing mechanical and technical skills

Qualifications

  • 1 year of mechanical or hands‑on experience (auto mechanic experience is ideal; industrial maintenance experience also accepted)
  • Ability to safely use basic hand tools
  • Willingness to learn mechanical and basic electrical concepts
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions

Work Environment

This role is performed on‑site at an active airport around moving equipment, baggage handling systems, and electrical components. The job requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, and working in confined, elevated, dirty, or hot spaces. Technicians must maintain constant awareness of moving machinery and live electrical areas while consistently using required PPE. The position is physically demanding, involving frequent lifting up to 50 lbs and occasional lifting up to 100 lbs , while working around conveyor and industrial systems.

Security Requirement (Required)

  • All candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Denver International Airport (DEN) security badge , including pass a drug screening, driver’s license check and validation, a ten (10) year History Records Check (CHRC), federal fingerprinting, and security threat assessment, as well as airport security badging processes.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $26.00/hr.
