Accounting Intern – Fall/Spring

What is an Accounting Intern?
An Accounting Intern works within our Accounting group. This intern will be working part time through the 2023-2024 academic year.
This is an internship opportunity for Accounting students to gain valuable, real-life practice working side by side with professionals at Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation – a leader in the dynamic, rapidly evolving electric & natural gas utility industry.

What does an Accounting Intern do?
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

»Preparing and processing accounting documents

»Assisting in the analysis and reconciliation of accounting data

»Assisting in the maintenance of accounting records and controls

»Assisting in the preparation of accounting reports, statements, bills and schedules

»Reviewing and correcting any computer edit errors

»Coordinating with other corporate personnel to accomplish the Accounting group’s stated responsibilities



Qualifications required 

»Accounting, Finance or Business Administration majors will be considered

»Candidates must be currently enrolled in an associates degree program or higher to be considered

»Must be able to work a minimum of 16 hours per week

»Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, particularly MS Excel

» capability to execute technical accounting tasks and investigations which require individual judgment and responsibility

»Must have a valid driver’s license
