This is a remote position.
Translation Excellence, Inc. is recruiting experienced transcriptionists to support an active federal transcription contract. Transcriptionists in this role produce verbatim English transcripts of federal law enforcement and legal audio recordings.
All work is performed remotely through a secure company-managed Azure Government environment. Federal audio is accessed only through our managed virtual desktop. No federal content is ever downloaded, stored, or processed on personal devices.
Work volume on this contract is substantial and sustained. Qualified transcriptionists can expect consistent full-time workload availability, or can claim as much or as little work as fits their schedule. Assignments are distributed through our operations workflow system and claimed based on availability, turnaround requirement, and quality score standing. Transcriptionists who maintain strong quality scores receive priority access to higher-paying premium, rush, and same-day assignments.
Compensation is per page delivered. A standard page is 250 words. Rates are tied to the turnaround requirement of each assignment and range from routine multi-week turnaround work to same-business-day premium assignments. Specific per-page rates are provided during the qualification conversation and are commensurate with experience, clearance status, and quality track record. Candidates are welcome to submit their own per-page rate expectations with their application.
Translation Excellence, Inc. delivers certified translation, interpreting, and transcription services to federal agencies, Fortune 500 companies, and legal institutions. Our operations are governed by ISO 17100, ISO 27001, ISO 9001, and additional certifications that define how we handle regulated client work.
US citizenship or lawful permanent resident status. This is a federal contract requirement and cannot be waived.

Verified typing speed of 70 words per minute or greater with 98 percent or higher accuracy.
Strong command of English grammar, punctuation, and verbatim legal transcription formatting standards.
Ability to work independently, meet turnaround commitments, and maintain quality standards under assignment deadlines.

A wired USB headset. Bluetooth headsets are not supported.
