HOW YOU CAN MAKE AN IMPACT

As an Environmental Health and Safety Manager , you will be responsible for implementing and managing environmental, health, and safety programs for our organization. You will ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility, and identify and mitigate potential hazards and risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures that comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Provide training and education to employees on safety procedures and best practice.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of facilities and equipment to identify potential hazards and risks.
• Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Hazard Analysis) and new equipment introductions.
• Record keeping of OSHA logs.
• Support Quality Assurance with external ISO audits.
• Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and other stakeholders. • Serve as the point of contact for employees, management, and regulatory agencies on environmental, health, and safety matters.
• Stay up to date with emerging trends and regulations in environmental, health, and safety, and make recommendations for improvement.
• Identify budgetary needs to address risk reduction and compliance assurance.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations (40 CFR) and manage environmental programs, including waste management and hazardous materials handling.
• Oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of environmental programs, including:

  • Hazardous waste management in accordance with generator category requirements (VSQG, SQG, LQG), and e-Manifest submissions.
  • Safety storage, labeling, and transportation, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Chemical Reporting (e.g. Sara Tier II Report)
• Perform safety and environmental inspections.
• Monitor and report on sustainability data/initiatives to Stadler ESG Team.
• Ensure proper permitting and reporting for environmental compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in environmental health and safety, industrial hygiene, or related field
• 4+ years of experience in environmental, health, and safety management
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• OSHA 30 Certified
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations specifically 29 CFR 1910
