Job Description

Overview:

It is the responsibility of the Bar porter to stock all glassware, condiments, beer, paper products and other necessary items needed for efficient operation within beverage outlets while performing excellent guest service. All duties are to be performed in accordance with federal, state, local laws, regulations, and ordinances, as well as department and Company policies, practices, and procedures. In addition, this position may assist with similar duties within the Hotel Division. This position must also exhibit a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the Company’s brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P. – Kindness, Engagement, Empathy and Positivity).

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain uniform appearance according to established guidelines.
  • Know locations of all Golden Nugget outlets and services available to guests.
  • Communicates professionally and courteously when interacting with guests and fellow co-workers.
  • Delivers and stocks all glassware, condiments, beer, Ice, paper products and other necessary items needed for efficient operation.
  • Delivers all product ordered from the warehouse to the appropriate storage rooms.
  • Ensures use of correct freight elevators and delivery routes to designated beverage outlets.
  • Empty trash and designated glass bins on a regular basis.
  • Empties dump sink filters in the service stations.
  • Stocks and services assigned beverage outlets maintaining par levels of inventory.
  • Adheres to established company and departmental procedures, guidelines and policies at all times including but not limited to product handling and sanitation.
  • Conducts bar deep cleaning in accordance with monthly bar breakdown schedule.
  • Responsible for set-up and breakdown of portable bars for special events in designated areas.
  • Maintains standard of cleanliness of all bars portable bars and beverage outlets including all related bar equipment.
  • Organizes and maintains all beverage pump room areas and store rooms.
  • Promotes and maintains the highest level of customer service to all guests while staying alert to their needs.
  • Assist with maintaining a neat, clean and safe working environment.
  • Turnover/Takeover station according to established procedures.
  • Relay all guest compliments and complaints to the manager on duty.
  • Is aware of and in compliance with all Health Department regulations while performing duties.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures and liquor laws.
  • Performs all other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Must have good people skills and a well-groomed appearance.
  • Must read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Must be capable of lifting and moving heavy objects.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

  • Must be able to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Minimum age requirement is 21.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE :

At least 2 years of experience in a bar or similar environment.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience working in a similar setting preferred.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Basic math skills.

Language Skills:

 

Must be able to speak and understand English.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to move throughout the hotel (standing, walking, kneeling, and bending) for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
  • Ability to regularly move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 50 pounds.
  • Constantly walking up to distances of 500 ft. during shift.
  • Frequently stooping, reaching.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment. There are occasional hot and cold temperature changes.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a smoke-filled environment.
  • Work with others in close spaces.
  • Moderate to high noise levels.
  • Walk/stand on tile/mats/carpet/cement.
Posted Salary Range: USD $12.00 - USD $12.00 /Hr. Benefits:
